DIY Best Friends Picture Frame
It is so sweet to see the love between two best friends! My son and his cat, Soul, are best friends. They spend a lot of time together and if you are ever looking for the cat, you are likely to find her with Mr. H.
She loves to love on him! So sweet!
I decided to make a best friends picture frame for Mr. H to have forever.
What You Need
- Wood Spray Paint
- Wood Glue
- An Old Wood Picture Frame
- Dry Cloth
- Scrap piece of cardboard
- Wood Letters
- Sand Paper
- A Picture of The Best Friends
Directions
First you need to take the glass out of the picture frame, clean it and set aside. Then, lightly sand the wood frame. You don’t want deep grooves, use a high grit to do a fine sanding. Once you have it sanded wipe it clean with a dry cloth.
You will want to go outside for this next part. Follow the directions on your spray paint to paint your picture frame and letters. Make sure you have the letters laying the correct way. When I was doing this, I had to go back and redo the I because I had it laying the wrong way originally.
After your letters and picture frame have dried use the wood glue to glue the letters onto the picture frame. I would suggest laying them out on the frame first to make sure you have the spacing correct. I poured a little glue on the cardboard and used my fingers to spread a tiny bit onto the back of each letter then placed each on the frame.
Make sure to give them plenty of time to dry.
If your child’s best friend is your cat like my son’s you need to attract the cat to get a good picture. Soul loves IAMS™ food and treats so I stopped by Walmart to grab a bag of the IAMS™ Proactive Healthy Adult Dry Cat Food with Chicken and treats. She is defiantly an #IAMSCat. You can pick out what your cat needs as, the new reformulation IAMS™ dry food, wet food and treats, allows you to customize your cat’s nutrition through a well balanced lifestyle.
The treats are grouped into specific dietary needs—Hairball Care, Digestive Health, and Oral Care.
See look, all you have to do is lay it out and she will find you!
The new treats have quickly become her favorite.
Add your picture and you are done!
IAMS™ would love to hear your stories and see pictures of your healthy, happy cats. Share yours below or on social media using the #IAMSCat. Check out all of these #IAMSCat stories.

This looks great. I have a little bit of spray paint left from a project I did before, but it will be just enough to make a frame like this. Thanks for the suggestion. 🙂

I love doing craft projects like this one of your son and his cat. I would love to spray paint a picture frame and then decorate the sides. It would be great to personalize the frame to match the picture.

I love the personal touch that these pictures frames add. I plan on giving these to my family at the end of the year. That way, I can customize them and include photos of all of this year’s birthdays and holidays.
