Craftsman Cordless 40 Volt System

Craftsman New 40 Volt MAX Lithium-ion Battery Lawn & Garden Equipment

Spring is here!! While some of you are still thawing out from all the snow, it may be time to start thinking about your yard care needs for this year. Spring showers bring green grass, flowers… and lawn maintenance.

The Craftsman brand has introduced an innovative lineup of new 40 Volt MAX Lithium-ion Battery Lawn & Garden Equipment designed to help the homeowner tackle a variety of lawn maintenance tasks – from lawn mowing to hedge trimming. Craftsman has sent my family the Craftsman 40V – Lithium String Trimmer and Edger to facilitation this post.

Included in the 40 Volt MAX Lithium-ion Battery Lawn & Garden Equipment line are these products:

40 Volt 12-in. Cordless Chainsaw
40 Volt Cordless Push Mower
40 Volt Cordless Hedge Trimmer
40 Volt Cordless Line Trimmer & Edger
40 Volt Cordless Sweeper

The upgraded 40 Volt cordless collection is powered by a 40 Volt MAX lithium-ion battery for a long runtime and includes a state of charge indicator so the user won’t lose power in the middle of a job. We have a half acre back-yard which usually would have us recharging a battery or adding gas in past trimmers. Using the 40 Volt Craftsman we had no issues with running out of juice!! Even did the front yard and edged the driveway too.

My teenage son was my model to capture these images for all of you. First of all, we found it super easy to assemble.  Straight out of the box all you need to do is attach the handle and the guard. That was all! After you charge the battery you are ready to go! You can adjust the position of the handle and the height of the tool to make it perfect for you.

It was so nice not to have to pull on a gas motor cord, mix oil and gas, recharge half way through working or find a long enough extension cord to reach the edges of our yard. We found it super easy to trim through thick weeds using the powerful transmission and easy thumb dial speed control adjustment. Along with the 13 inch cutting path, which made covering ground fast!

This super light-weigh trimmer only weights 10.3 pounds makes it were just about anyone can use it without putting a strain on your body.

In the past we have had to continually tap (or bang!) the trimmers we have had on the ground to feed the line. This trimmer does not require you to do that!! I repeat, you do not have to tap to feed the line! It automatically feeds! We LOVE this feature.

Then with a simple push of a button you have an easy to use trimmer.

Craftsman Edger

We are not super fans of the Craftsman 40 Volt Lithium String Trimmer and Edger! The powerful battery, transmission, speed control, and user friendly features gives this line a Thumb Up!

The automatic line feed feature sounds really nice. I’ll have to mention this to my hubby.

They make good power tools. The only one that I use is a lawn mower. The others are too much for me.

Really nice equipment for the summer! I love that the weed trimmer auto fills the line. I cannot stand having to bang the trimmers to get the line to feed.

Craftsman makes wonderful products. Living in an apartment where yard maintenance is not our responsibility, we don’t have a need for any items like this, but I will be recommending this to my parents!

Good timing that I saw this…I need to buy a new weed whacker and I like that this shows the amount of charge it has and is an upgrade to the 18v whacker I am replacing. It’s always good to get recommendations or you are just taking your chances. So thank you.

I have been a fan of Craftsman tools for years. I’m sure their weed whacker is made to last just as the rest of their tools. Reliability is key when one relies on their tools to make their living. I’m glad that this tool lives up to my standards.

Nice system! I hope the batteries are better than they were a few years ago. Had to ditch my cordless Craftsman drill for a Ryobi because both battery cells died & wouldn’t charge again. Only had the thing for a year. Anyways, nice review!
