I wasn’t happy with this movie at all. My favorite movie is Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, and this just wasn’t for me. The idea of changing Maleficent a villain, “the mistress of all evil”, into a character who only shares the same name, and is a misunderstood anti-hero, was a mistake. I feel that kids who would watch the Maleficent film first, and then the Sleeping Beauty film second, would be very confused by how different the two movies, storylines, and characters are.
