Creamy Wine Italian Slow Cooker Chicken – Pasta Dish
Having friends over during the holiday season is so much fun! We now have a great group of friends we love to eat dinner with and then enjoy our evening playing card games or just chatting and having a great time! Really, we don’t need a reason to get together, we just say, “Hey, whatcha doing tonight? Want to do dinner together?” Cooking a meal that is easy and yummy in a slow cooker still gives me time to get the house ready, not that my friends care if my house is not spotless. Give this recipe a try and it will impress you how easy it is to make, yet how special your friends feel that you took the time to prepare a meal for them.
Ingredients:
- 2 (8oz) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
- 2 (10oz) can condensed mushroom soup
- 1 (8oz) container chive and onion cream cheese
- 1/2 cup Clos Du Bois Chardonnay
- 3 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 1 Box Barilla Angel Hair Pasta or Barilla Penne Pasta
Directions:
Combine Italian salad dressing mix, mushroom soup, cream cheese, Clos Du Bois Chardonnay, and chicken breast in a crock-pot. I call out the Clos Du Bois Chardonnay for this recipe because it has a fruit forward taste, balanced with a low to medium oak intensity. I also purchased the Clos du Bois Cabernet Sauvignon for my friends to drink with our meal. It is for those that might like a medium bodied oak character. Either way, both are a great pairing for this meal!
Turn on low and cook for around 5 hours.
About 4 hours into cooking, you may want to shred the chicken.
Towards the end of your cooking time, in a separate pot, follow the directions to cook either the Barilla Angel Hair Pasta or Barilla Penne Pasta. This is really a personal choice as to what style of pasta you like to eat. Both styles taste great with this recipe. Barilla is the authentic Italian food brand, bringing wellbeing and quality taste to your table that your friends will appreciate. Being the #1 choice of Italy, Barilla is a perfect match between pasta and sauces.
Serve the Creamy Wine Italian Slow Cooker Chicken over your Barilla pasta with a glass of Clos Du Bois wine!

Italian is my absolute favorite. I also love just about mushroom anything. The slow cooking of this dish is sure to be worth the wait. I might vary the recipe a little by using rigatoni or rotini!
