DIY Gift Idea: How to Package Holiday Treats

We are all busy during the holiday months. Baking cookies and putting together an elaborate personal cookie gift, is a great idea. However, if you are like me, this idea is just not going to work with your schedule! Every once in a while, we have to take shortcuts that look like we put in a lot of effort. Here is a great way to put together a great DIY gift idea in a decorative package without putting in a lot of time.

What You Need

  • Rubbermaid TakeAlongs – in the limited edition colors of Red, Green and/or Holiday Prints.
  • Holiday Ribbon
  • Homemade or store bought holiday treats
  • Holiday Colored Fabric

Directions

First, head out to Walmart to purchase the items you need. When choosing your holiday treats make sure to pick the ones that someone might think you actually made yourself! hehe. Also, make sure to pick up the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs because they have Quik Clik Seal™ that keeps food secure and helps prevent spills. I like Rubbermaid TakeAlongs because they are the perfect vessel when sharing snacks with family and friends during the season of giving. They have soft lid grips to seal the container tightly and a large tab for easy opening. You can choose whichever colors you like, they are available in a limited holiday edition of red, green or prints from 10/29 – 12/24.

You will need to cut your holiday colored fabric to fit the size of your Rubbermaid TakeAlongs. There are several different sizes, purchase whichever size you would like to fill. Lay the fabric inside the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs. Then, fill the cookies and treats.

Fold up the cloth around your treats.

Place the lid on top. Make sure to line up the large tab for easy opening with the soft side handles. This way you can cover both with the ribbon.

Tie the ribbon in a bow and you are done! Give to your friends, family, school teachers, or whoever you believe may needs a little holiday cheer!
