Disinfect Your Home Using No Harsh Chemicals

CleanSmart Disinfectant Spray

With Travis having cancer and my kids being the germ carrying creatures they are, I am always looking for a way to keep my house disinfected without using harsh chemicals. I have read several articles about how we all need to be aware of our environment. We need to care about what goes into our body as well as what we are exposing to our bodies.
CleanSmart Disinfectant Spray

Recently, I was contacted by CleanSmart Disinfectant Spray and asked if I wanted to give their product a try. Of course, after checking out their website, I said yes and was excited to give it a try. Check out this list of what this spray can do:

  • Kills Cold, Flu, & RSV Viruses
  • Destroys Listeria, Salmonella, and E.Coli
  • Eliminates Odor Causing Bacteria

Now, if it can kill those things without using harsh chemicals, I am all in! Plus, they go on to explain you can breathe easy, not use gloves while cleaning, and you do not even have to rinse! On the bottle it states that it kills 99.9% of germs! Anybody else wondering what is in this stuff? I was! I mean really, am I supposed to believe that something without harsh chemicals can kill 99.9% of germs? We all have it ingrained in our minds that if we are not using harsh chemicals, then it can’t really be cleaning. That is simply not true. Green products can disinfect just as efficiently, if not better.
CleanSmart Disinfectant Spray

This got me thinking, “What is in this stuff?”

Active Ingredients: 0.017% Hypochlorous Acid

  • Hypochlorous (Full name Hypochlorous Acid) is known by the scientific formula HOCL.  It occurs naturally in the white blood cells of humans (and all mammals!)  and is deployed to kill harmful pathogens as soon as infection is detected.

This is why it’s earned the nickname “Nature’s Perfect Germ Killer.” The antimicrobial properties of Hypochlorous are documented throughout the medical world. It’s even EPA-approved for use in Neonatal units!

How CleanSmart Works

Basically, the formula is just salt and water ran through an electrical device. Watch this video to give you a little more explanation…..

CleanSmart products use hypochlorous electrolyzed water technology, which breaks down into saline water, leaving no chemical residue—even when left to air dry.  I LOVE THIS because when I clean my kitchen counter tops and chopping block, I spend about fifteen minutes rinsing them. I clean it with a harsh chemical and then think to myself, “Now, I have to get the cleaner off.” With CleanSmart you do not have to worry. Hypochlorous is naturally produced in the human body to fight bacteria and infections, which is why it is effective for killing germs but gentle on people and pets.

What Products Can You Disinfect Using CleanSmart

CleanSmart products are approved for use on electronics (fitness trackers, cell phones, televisions, computers), children’s toys and pacifiers, pet areas, etc. They have four product lines; Household Disinfecting, Nursery Care, Hand Cleaner, CleanSmart Pet.

CleanSmart Disinfectant Spray

I have been using it all over my house. I’ve used it on my kitchen counters, kitchen chopping block, door knobs, toilet handles, and you can even spray this on your mouth guards! If you have a baby, you can use this on a pacifier without rinsing! Just wait 60 seconds and give it right back to your baby.

CleanSmart Disinfectant Spray

In the home gym we have set up for Travis, using CleanSmart has helped to disinfect and sanitize the equipment. I don’t want a stinky sweaty germ filled gym. Yuck! At the same, time I do not want to use harsh chemicals that could possibly harm him. Solution – CleanSmart. I can just go in there and spray everything down and leave it. Don’t even have to wipe it off! Fastest way to clean a gym ever!

I am allergic to a lot of cleaning products (at least that’s the excuse I give when I lapse on it. LOL! 😉 ) so having some options that don’t have a lot of harsh and irritating ingredients is something that would definitely help me out! 🙂

Wow this product line sounds amazing! I have two cats and one of them tends to lick the floor and cabinets – yes she is odd lol. I am always worried about what she might eat off them so I tend to clean often so she doesn’t end up eating dirt, dust, hair, etc. However, I always worry about what’s in the cleaning products and if they’re worse for her to ingest. Most cleaning products have such harsh chemicals and I’m very concerned what affect they may have on her. So I am always looking for better and safer alternatives. Thanks for the tip! I will definitely be checking out these products!
